John Murray gets European title chance

John Murray has been given his long awaited chance to fight for the European Lightweight title. He will take on Ukrainian Andrei Kudriatsev for the vacant belt with purse bids due on 24th March. The former champion Anthony Mezaache of France gave up the title this week leaving Murray's plans to fight him in America next month in tatters. Kevin Mitchell who was also in the frame is now focussing on a fight against the WBC Champion Michael Katsidis.

Prince Arron takes Prizefighter title

Prince Arron confounded the bookmakers by taking the Prizefighter Light middleweight title at York Hall. The 22 year old Manchester boxer got the verdict over Brett Flournoy in the final after having previously disposed of Neil Sinclair in round one and then the pre-tournament favourite Bradley Price in the semi-final. Afterwrads Arron dedicated his victory to trainer Bob Shannon who he said was the best person he has ever met.

Andy Morris to challenge Gary Sykes

Andy Morris says he is ready for action after being called up to fight Gary Sykes for the British Super Featherweight title in Huddersfield on 5th March. He told Hatton TV that he had wind that something like this might happen with Ricky Burns pulling out, so he has been preparing for facing Sykes for some time now.

An injury scare to Manny Pacquiao's left leg is no cause for concern, acording to his adviser Michael Koncz  “It’s nothing serious, just cramps,” said Koncz, who asked Pacquiao’s fans to “relax, don’t worry. Green fight switched from Sydney to Perth

Danny  Green will switch his world boxing title defence against Manny Siaca from Sydney to hometown Perth after the West Australian government agreed to provide backing.
