England staged a late comeback to win the final three bouts and force a draw with Ireland in their senior amateur international in Aldershot. The Irish had looked  the stronger in the early bouts with Christopher Phelan, Ciaran Bates, Adam Nolan and Luke Keeler putting them ahead 4-1   before victories for Deion Jumah, Lawrence Osueke and Anthony Joshua brought England level. Montiel on the mend after bike accident

Bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel, who injured his right leg in a dirt bike accident on October 10th is making a better than expected recovery. Initially it was thought the Mexican could be out of training for more than three weeks after suffering cuts & bruises and having an operation to remove a bone fragment from his knee.  But he is back in the gym and is now confident of defending his titles in December after all.
