James DeGale's next fight will take place in Canada, promoters Hennessy Sports have confirmed. The 2008 Olympic gold medallist will face an as yet to be confirmed opponent at Casino Lac-Leamy in Gartineau on May 17. It marks DeGale's first appearance since his victory over Colombian veteran Fulgencio Zuniga in Hull in December.

James DeGale's fight with Colombian puncher Alexander Brand has been delayed. The 2008 Olympic gold medallist was due to defend his WBC silver super-middleweight against the South American next Saturday (March 23). "Gutted! Just been told my fight on the 23 March has been postponed! New date to be confirmed!" DeGale wrote on Twitter. Promoters Hennessey Sports said the delay was caused by an "unfortunate and unavoidable situation".
