RICKY HATTON says he cannot understand how Martin Murray didn't
emerge victorious against Sergio Martinez at the weekend.
Murray blocked most of the Argentinian's southpaw's best punches
in the early rounds before taking over the second half of the
contest in front of more than 40,000 fans in Buenos Aires.
The Englishman scored a knockdown in the eighth round and had
the Martinez over again in the tenth only to see it ruled a

Martin Murray can hold his head high after giving world
middleweight champion Sergio Martinez the fight of his life in
Buenos Aires, Argentina last night.
St Helens' Murray showed no signs of fear as he went into
the lion's den and pitched a performance which many feel was good
enough to earn him the spoils.
In the end, Martinez prevailed with scores of 115-112 from
all three judges.

Amir Khan was dropped and had to come through a torrid time
against Julio Diaz before picking up a unanimous decision in
Sheffield on Saturday night.
Things had started well for the Bolton man as he showed
good movement and speed during the first three rounds. In contrast,
Diaz plodded forwards looking for single punches.

to the canvas with a trio of hard hooks....

Audley Harrison's career again looks to be over as American
puncher Deontay Wilder halted him in just 70 seconds.
The 2000 Olympic gold medallist has been something of
laughing stock for years, but despite his setbacks Harrison has
always managed to find a way back into contention.
Last October, the Londoner was flattened in one round by
David Price and his time in the sport seemed to have finally
passed. However, he came back on fire when he won Prizefighter for
the second time...

Khan, the younger brother of Amir, looked nervy at the
start and was often reckless as he lunged in with hopeful punches,
but was still the one in command of the contest.
It's likely that the young Bolton man will get criticism

Gary Sykes retained his English super-featherweight title with a
unanimous ten round decision over Jon Kays on the undercard of Amir
Khan's clash with Julio Diaz in Sheffield tonight.
"Five Star" took a few sessions to find his rhythm and was
often countered by Kays coming in, but moved through the gears in
customary fashion in the second half to earn judges scores of
97-94, 98-84 and 98-93.
From round six onwards, Sykes demonstrated his superb
engine by relentlessly pressuring ...
