Leonard Ellerbe, the right-hand man of Floyd Mayweather and CEO
of Mayweather Promotions has said that he is excited about rapper
50 Cent moving into the boxing game.
The 'Get Rich or Die Tryin' star, who boxed
himself as an amateur, is a long-term friend of the pound for pound
great and has recently acquired a promoter's licence in the state
of New York.
"I think that Floyd and 50 coming together is great for boxing,"
Ellerbe said; "You have two smart guys and when great minds
work together, you can have nothing but great results."
50 Cent has formed a company called TMT Promotions - which
stands for "The Money Team" and this week embarked in a war of
words on the social networking website Twitter with Oscar De La
Hoya.
"I don't gamble, Floyd do, but I bet you that you won't be
promoting Floyd Mayweather no more. TMT PROMOTIONS," the rapper
tweeted to the Golden Boy Promotions boss.
Mayweather is due to be released from Clark County Detention
Centre, where he has been serving a domestic abuse charge, on
August 3 and it looks like 50 Cent will be involved in the
promotion of his next contest.
