Burton's popular Jonjo Finnegan is currently in intensive care
at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham after undergoing brain
surgery following his bout with Ryan Clark last night.
The 32-year-old was stopped in the sixth round of their clash
for the International Masters super-middleweight title.
Medical staff stretched Finnegan from the ring and he was later
operated on due to bleeding on his brain.
This morning, Carl Greaves, manager of Ryan Clark, wrote on his
Twitter: "Just to let everyone know, the doctors are pleased with
how the operation went.
"Jonjo is now on a ventilator and is stable but in
intensive care."
An understandably upset Clark wrote: "Wish I could turn back
time and just give him my belt. I did not mean to hurt anyone that
bad.
"It is boxing - could have happened to any of us. You are in my
prayers, Jonjo."
