Wayne McCullough has said that he wants to train the US boxing
team at the next Olympics.
The granite chinned Belfast native felt Olympic success for
himself in Barcelona twenty years ago when he scooped a silver
medal for Ireland.
However, he has been based in America ever since and feels he is
the ideal man to revive the country's flagging amateur boxing
set-up.
Team USA is well established in Olympic boxing history but the
men's squad failed to win a single medal at London 2012.
McCullough said: "Now that the Olympics are over I am putting my
name out there to let everyone know I would love to train Team
USA.
"They have some very talented boxers and I know the decisions
didn't always go the right way but I believe I can help them
achieve success next time around at Rio 2016."
