Unbeaten middleweight contender Peter Quillin has been given the
chance to win his first major honour.
The self-styled "Kid Chocolate" will face interim WBO champion
Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York
on October 20.
"Every fighter's dream is to fight for a world championship and
to become a world champion, but the journey to get there is also
important, and I've been through a lot of stuff to be where I am
right now, so this opportunity is from God,"
Quillin said.
"I'll train hard to go out there and win and take victory. I
want to be a world champion. This will tell people a lot about me.
I want to be a people's champion and inspire people along the
way."
The main event that night will see Danny Garcia defend his WBA
and WBC light-welterweight straps in a rematch with Mexican legend
Erik Morales, while Paulie Malignaggi will also put his belt on the
line against Pablo Cesar Cano.
