According to reports, Doncaster's Jamie McDonnell will box
former world title challenger Vusi Malinga in a IBF bantamweight
title eliminator this autumn
The fight will appear on the undercard of Kell Brook's clash
with Hector Saldivia at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield on
October 20.
Southpaw Malinga has twice fought for versions of the world
title in the past three years.
In 2009 he was blasted out in one round by Japan's then WBC
champion Hozumi Hasegawa. And in June this year he dropped a
unanimous decision to Leo Santa Cruz in a tilt for the vacant IBF
crown.
