A professional style judging system could be used at the next
Olympic Games, amateur boxing's governing body has suggested.
The ongoing London Games has featured a number of controversial
decisions and the president of AIBA, Wu Ching-Kuo, has confirmed
that switching to the 10 point system used in the pro game is being
considered.
"We are on the way," Wu told the Associated Press. "It's better
for the boxers. That competition style means everything, the whole
aspect, is added together. The winner should be the better
boxer."
AIBA are also said to be considering getting rid of headguards
for men's fights at Rio 2016.
