American veteran Randall Bailey will make the first defence of
his IBF welterweight crown against Devon Alexander at the Barclays
Centre in Brooklyn, New York on October 20.
The pair were originally set to clash in Las Vegas on September
8, but Baily had to pull out after injuring his back in
training.
Now that he has recovered Golden Boy Promotions have decided to
add the fight to their already stacked card next month.
"We are thrilled to not only be re-announcing this hard-hitting
matchup, but also to be able to add it to the already powerful
night of boxing planned for Barclays Centre on October 20," said
promoter Oscar De La Hoya.
"With four world championship fights and a great undercard to
kick off a new era of boxing in Brooklyn, this show is going to be
like the Super Bowl of boxing and definitely will be a night to
remember."
Top of the bill sees unbeaten Philadelphian Danny Garcia defend
his WBC and WBA light-welterweight titles in a rematch with Erik
Morales.
On the same card Paulie Malignaggi puts his WBA crown on the
line against Pablo Cano while Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin
challenges France's Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam.
