The management team of heavyweight contender Manuel Charr have
made an official complaint against his defeat to Vitali Klitschko
at the weekend.
27-year-old Charr, a Syrian-born German, was stopped in the
fourth round against the WBC champion due to a severe laceration
over his right eye.
The complaint from Charr's manager Pit Gleim has come because
the boxer was treated by the ring doctor in Klitschko's corner
rather than his own.
"The protest is motivated by a clear and indisputable
violation," Gleim said.
"The official rules were given to both teams the day before the
fight in a meeting."
Klitschko himself told a news conference that he is bewildered
by the complaint.
He added: "Another round, or a maximum of two, and he (Charr)
would have been on the floor."
