Former world heavyweight champion Tim Witherspoon says he
supports Ricky Hatton's decision to return to the ring.
'The Hitman' announced his comeback at a pack press conference
in Manchester last Friday and will face as yet to be confirmed
opponent on November 24.
It's a decision which has split opinion in the boxing
fraternity, but Witherspoon sees no reason why Ricky cannot
rekindle his past glories.
"He's not beat up, he's in good shape. He's only 33,"
Witherspoon said at a charity dinner in Shropshire this week.
He added that he feels Hatton would have the beating of Amir
Khan if the pair were to meet in the future.
Witherspoon is best known to British boxing fans for beating
Frank Bruno at Wembley in 1986.
