Pound for pound greats Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jnr
have agreed to settle their ongoing defamation case.
The Associated Press reports that a confidential settlement was
made on Tuesday at a court in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A lawyer representing Mayweather's father, Floyd Snr, said his
client was pleased with the decision and happy see the saga come to
an end.
The case was started by Pacquiao in 2009 after Mayweather Jnr
allegedly accused him of using performance enhancing drugs.
A joint statement from the Mayweather family read: "Floyd
Mayweather Jnr, Floyd Mayweather Snr, Roger Mayweather and
Mayweather Promotions wish to make it clear that they never
intended to claim that Manny Pacquiao has used or is using any
performance enhancing drugs, nor are they aware of any evidence
that Manny Pacquiao has used performance enhancing drugs.
"Manny Pacquiao is a great champion, and no one should construe
any of our prior remarks as claiming that Manny Pacquiao has used
performance enhancing drugs."
