It appears that WBA
super-bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux will defend his
title against Robert Marroquin in Las Vegas after all.
The fight was originally scrapped
due to legal issues between Rigondeaux and Irish manager Gary
Hyde.
However, a settlement has now been
made between Hyde and promotional firm Top Rank that will enable
the unbeaten Cuban sensation to box this weekend.
There may be one last snag to
overcome, though, as Caribe Promotions, Rigondeaux's co-promoter,
is still trying to prevent the fight from happening.
Caribe is alleging that Top Rank and other bodies has interfered
with the contract it holds with the boxer.
