According to reports Mexican legend Erik "El Terrible" Morales
has failed a random drugs test ahead of this weekend's clash with
The US Anti-Doping Agency has said that there were some
irregularities with the 36-year-old's test.
Although full details are sketchy at this stage, it appears that
Morales was subjected to three tests and in one of them a small
amount of clenbuterol was found in his system.
Clenbuterol is prescribed to people who suffer from breathing
disorders, but can be used as an aggressive fat burner. It appears
on WADA's list of banned substances.
Despite the failed test it is likely that Morales will challenge
WBC and IBF light-welterweight champion Danny Garcia in Brooklyn on
Saturday night. This is because a 'B' test to prove the results
cannot be carried out until after the fight.
