2008 US Olympian Sadam Ali took his perfect record to 16 wins
and 10 knockouts in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday night when
halted Ronnie Warrior in the second round.
The self-promoted welterweight prospect sent his foe to the
canvas with a quality left hook midway through the second before
finishing him off with a hefty right when there was just one second
remaining in the session.
"I worked hard for this and I want to thank everybody for this
opportunity," he said, afterwards.
"I'm trying to get better opponents but sometimes fights fall
out (Ali's original opponent Jermaine White was replaced by Warrior
on two days notice). The better fighters cost a lot of money and
I'm not in that position yet. I'm ready to step up.
"I want to keep my promotional company going, enhance my career
and stay busy. I also want to help other fighters because I know
how hard it is getting fights without a promoter."
On the same bill Columbia's Santander Silgado defeated Joell
Godfrey for the second time on points over eight rounds.
