Dungiven middleweight Eamonn O'Kane will now challenge for the
IBF Intercontinental strap when takes on former European
middleweight champion Kerry Hope on the undercard of Carl
Frampton's tussle with Jeremy Parodi on October 19.
The clash has originally been scheduled for the vacant BBBofC
Celtic title, but Cyclone Promotions have made a sanctioning
agreement with the IBF.
It means that the winner will earn themselves a high ranking
with the US-based body.
"I am thrilled that the IBF have recognised this fantastic
match up as a worthy decider for their well respected
Intercontinental belt," said promoter and Hall of Fame inductee
"Cyclone Promotions have a very good working relationship with
the International Boxing Federation and long may this continue.
"In what we all expect to be a fantastic scrap next Saturday,
Eamonn faces a former European champion who will now have
additional motivation to win this fight. However, O'Kane is always
in shape and he will be ready."
