Despite the nation's early exit from the European Championships
this weekend, Poland still has something to be proud of in the
shape of Tomasz Adamek.
The heavyweight unanimously outpointed Eddie Chambers over 12
rounds on Saturday night to take the IBF North American title in
Newark, New Jersey.
It was Adamek second victory since his punishing defeat to WBC
heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko last September and improves
his record to 46 - 2.
"The fight was very close, but I felt I fought my fight and I
won the fight," Adamek said. "I was looking to win the fight. If I
start to look to knock someone out, you can lose. I felt I
controlled the fight."
