Australian heavyweight champion Lucas Browne has returned to the
UK and is currently preparing himself for battle at the Hatton Gym
in Hyde.
The 12 - 0 (11 KOs) puncher dismantled Paul Butlin in Oldham in
late April and it was a performance which impressed Ricky Hatton so
much that the Hitman invited him back over to appear on his next
promotion.
Browne will spend one week training at Hatton HQ before heading
off across the Pennines to spend time sparring Richard Towers at
Brendan Ingle's legendary St Thomas' Boys and Girls Club in
Wincobank, Sheffield.
After that, the giant Aussie will meet an as yet to be confirmed
opponent on the undercard of the big Scott Quigg v Rendall Munroe
clash at the Velodrome in Manchester.
"I'm not sure who I'm facing yet on July 16th, but I know I'm
going to be in tremendous shape and I'm looking to build on my last
few performances," Browne said.
"The atmosphere fighting in front of the English crowds is
fantastic! I was warmly welcomed there and I hope they get behind
me again".
