Darren Cruise is aiming to make May a month to remember as the
Roscommon middleweight prepares to place his name firmly on the
boxing radar.
Not only is Cruise scheduled to appear in his home town on May
26th as part of RedHawk Boxing Promotions' Rock 'N Rumble show but
on May 5th Darren will compete with eight domestic rivals for the
coveted Prizefighter crown.
Taking place in the historic King's Hall, Belfast, the first
ever Prizefighter to be held in Ireland is an exclusively all-Irish
line-up and Cruise is aiming to carry the esteemed trophy all the
way back to Roscommon.
"I really can't wait for May 5th, it's the opportunity of a
lifetime for me and I'm not intending to let it pass," buzzed
Darren.
"Training has been going brilliantly and I'm feeling great; in
fact, I'm the fittest I've ever been. I've waited all my life for
this, ever since my dad brought me into boxing at seven years of
age. I respect all of the other competitors but I'm ready to go to
war and bring the crown to Roscommon.
"I want to thank XLNT Signs for their support and to all my
supporters that have pushed me forward along the way it is a great
mental boost to know that I have such great support".
Red Hawk Promotions' Maria Ni Shiuilleabhain is equally as
excited at the prospect of Darren Cruise competing in
Prizefighter:
"We are feeling very confident in Darren's abilities and are
looking forward to getting him into the ring on May 5th where his
hard work will speak for itself," stated Maria. "Darren has been
working extremely hard with his team in recent weeks. John Waldron
and Finton Flynn have been putting him through a rigorous training
regime and he has been getting some top class sparring both here in
Ireland and in the UK."
A successful run in the exciting winner-takes-all contest will
set Cruise up nicely for a Roscommon Rock 'N Rumble in The Hub
venue on May 26th and a hometown event that guarantees
entertainment both in and out of the ring. The show also features:
John Waldron, Christina McMahon, Alan Donnellan, Stephen Reynolds,
Michael Waldron, Brandon Peake, Finton Glynn and Willie
Mitchell.
