Scott Quigg retained his British Super Bantamweight title with
an eighth round stoppage victory over Jamie Arthur at Bolton but
only after being knocked to the canvas himself.
Arthur and his team claimed the fight was ended prematurely
after the referee stepped in when he appeared to turn his back
after being hit with a big body shot.
However, Quigg had bravely fought his way back into the fight
after being floored in the fourth round as the challenger made a
bright start. But that shock spurred Quigg to greater efforts and
he patiently waited for his moment as he pummelled Arthur to the
body.
